Scaffold ssDNA for DNA origami
We offer a range of single-stranded scaffold DNA for DNA origami nanostructures, varying in length and sequence. Our focused portfolio allows us to maintain high quality standards across our products. Each unit of scaffold DNA typically supports between 25 to 400 standard DNA origami folding reactions (20 nM, 100 µl).

Original sequence of the M13mp18 phage
Our scaffolds are produced by extension of the ssDNA of the filamentous M13mp18 phage through molecular cloning. This allows us to produce scaffolds with various lenghts. We provide the most commonly used lengths for DNA Origami in different volumes
Shortened and extended variants of M13mp18
Our shortened scaffolds, like the 4,844 base pair version, are perfect for creating compact, efficient DNA origami structures. By reducing complexity, they allow for faster folding and more precise designs, giving you greater control over your experiments.
Our extended scaffolds (7,560 and 8,064 base pairs) offer the flexibility to build larger, more intricate designs.
We can provide shorter scaffolds by cleaving on request.
Orthogonal scaffold
Our orthogonal scaffolds allow you to assemble multiple separate nanostructures simultaneously in a single one-pot reaction, or to create larger, more intricate designs that incorporate multiple scaffold strands.
Their sequences do not interact with the standard scaffolds (based on M13mp18) or exhibit minimal cross-reactivity due to their distinct sequences, making them perfect for advanced DNA origami applications.
Whether you're looking to streamline your experimental process or design highly complex nanostructures, our orthogonal scaffolds provide the flexibility and innovation to bring your most ambitious projects to life.

Frequently Asked Questions
Ordering from China or Japan?
You can order our ssDNA in China through Biohub International Trade and MBL Biotech
In Japan directly with us or through Eurofins Genomics
How is tilibit ssDNA for DNA origami delivered?
Your single-stranded DNA is delivered in a specific buffer at a specific concentration.
What is the best way to store and handle ssDNA for DNA origami
ssDNA stability is affected by both the buffer used and the temperature at which it is stored. For extended preservation, it is best stored at -20 °C, whereas for temporary storage, 4 °C is advisable.
Avoid shearing, pipette gently.
How do I determine the correct ssDNA type for my DNA origami project?
The ordering type and length depend on your specific DNA origami design. We recommend contacting us to advise you in the best fitting product for your design.
Are the scaffold sequences identical to the sequences supplied with the cadnano software?
The sequence of the single-stranded scaffold DNA, type p7249 is identical to the sequence "M13mp18" in cadnano.
The sequence of the single-stranded scaffold DNA, type p7560 is identical to the sequence "p7560" in cadnano.
The sequence of the single-stranded scaffold DNA, type p8064 is identical to the sequence "p8064" in cadnano.
Are there higher concentrations of ssDNA available?
Solutions with single-stranded scaffold DNA concentrations above 400 nM are viscose and difficult to handle. Please contact us if your application requires higher concentration and we will find a solution that works for your project.
